Handy(wo)man: 1 : a person who does odd jobs. 2 : one competent in a variety of small skills or, inventiveness or ingenuity in repair or maintenance work.

Eclectic: a person who derives ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources.

Growing up in our family-owned hardware store gave me a 17 year base on all things “handy” and really influenced my passions in life more than I could have ever imagined. I received a BFA in Fine Arts Painting from Kendall College of Art & Design right here in Grand Rapids, MI. I learned how to hone my skills through my college experience, and that attention to detail is key to any final project. The majority of my jobs before starting The Handywoman Eclectic LLC were in accounting and retail management, setting me up for success and getting to know the intricacies of owning a business. I also worked at The Sherwin-Williams Company, which gave me a vast knowledge of paint products, and what works best in every individuals' situation. 

 

After being laid off in 2020 during the pandemic, I was allowed the time to focus on our 1920’s craftsman style home again, which made me realize that this is what I needed to do to find happiness, and help others. I would become a handywoman!

I have always been hands-on in my approach to work, and never been afraid to get those hands dirty, so ultimately my career choices have led me to this exact point in my life. I am nothing if not resourceful. I will use my skills to find solutions to any issue, and will do the research to complete any task.

 

I believe that normalizing women in the home improvement business is very important, and strive to be a shining example in the industry. Yes, you can hire any “Tom, Dick or Harry” but I am not them. I am Hannah, and I will do my best to make your home look amazing. No job too small! I am honest, caring, detail oriented and professional. You can trust me to be in your home, to be clean and to be kind.
